Mulberry Silk/Yak Handcraft Yarn Characteristics:

When travelling through Nepal, we often wondered how the super soft looking, curly underwool of the humble Yak animals would feel. Now we know: Just like a highest quality cashmere. So we decided we wanted to combine this with a shiny, stabilizing silk and make it the nicest yarn you ever held in your hands at almost only half the price of cashmere.

This blend yarn owns not only the advantage of natural silk such as functions of preventing wind, dehumidifying, soothing, nourishing and balancing human skin, breathable, soft, hygroscopic, non-itching and anti-static but also the natural brown yak fiber, a very thin, with a diameter of less than 20 microns and a length of 2.6 to 3.5 cm. It has irregular curvature, and the scales are tightly looped, with soft luster, strong elasticity and smooth handfeel. Yak velvet is warmer and softer than ordinary wool, and has been used in the field of garment production in recent years.
